The 48th annual Golden Orange Film and Art Festival in October 2011 is a wonderful opportunity to experience the fusion of two unique cultures in a beautiful holiday setting, and even possibly spot the odd film star or two! Originally started as a series of concerts and plays at the historical Aspendos Theatre in the mid-1950s, the festival has now become one of Europe's premier film events and showcases cinema and movies from around the world. Although not as famous as Cannes, it is still regarded as an important opportunity for both new and established filmmakers to premiere their work to an appreciative audience. The event is growing in popularity every year, and is now firmly on the calendar of 'must-attend' events for both independent and major film producers.
There is a wide range of different celebrations that take place within the resort of Antalya. A lot of these events are classed as major events and national festivals all across Turkey and some of these are even on the Islamic calendar. Some of the dates will vary from year to year. The ancient city of Perge is located about eighteen kilometers to the east of the city of Antalya. The Hittites created this ancient city. This city is popular with both locals and tourists alike. The Beach Park that is located within Antalya is a very popular attraction with both locals and tourists alike.
