The Cyprus International 4 Day Challenge is an event that brings out the adventurous streak in participants. Those who want to participate or maybe witness the event can catch a flight to Paphos from any major international airport nearest to your city. The event mixes conventional road running and remarkable trail running through a National Park called Akamas National Park situated in Paphos. The participants take part in 4 events and the final winner is the person who achieves best scores in all four events.

The adventure trip begins with a 6km run at Coral Beach trial run on the first day. The second day comprises of an 11km Run in the Akamas Hill of Nature Reserve Park, with scenic views of the sea and enchanting vistas of the beautiful location. The third day activity is the Akamas multi-terrain half marathon. The fourth and the final day race of the 4 day challenge series is a 10km run across the Paphos City.

This 4 Day race is planned and organized by Arena Sports on a yearly basis from 25th to 28th Nov. For the local participants the event costs about 30 Euros for the 10 km run of the Paphos city and for international runners its costs 175 Euros. People who wish to witness the races can watch it absolutely free of cost. The Opening Hours for the race are 3pm on Thursday, 9.30am on Friday and Saturday and 8am on Sunday.

The event practices start with all the participants running throughout the Paphos city to accumulate all the stamina required for the final days of the event. The first day begins with the 6km time trial on asphalt and the adjacent runners set with a 10 second interval between them. Winners are noted for the first activity.

On the second day of the event, mountain runners enjoy their trail run for a distance of 11km at a stretch. The race begins immediately after the white river location at AKAMAS Nature Reserve and gets over by elegant village square which has the church of Pano Arodes as a landmark for the runners. After covering the 800m in the beginning, runners begin climbing along the steep slope that turns with short but sharp descents, to give a final gain of height spreading over through 600m with alternating landscapes that includes a moonscape like valley, a moderately dense forest and some amazing vineyards.

On the third day of the event participants are challenged through some highly picturesque routes. The half marathon commences from Smigies picnic area just after Neo Chorio. The race mixes a soft mountain run with the first 10 kilometres as competitors climb from 280m to 600m in to the AKAMAS Nature Reserve forest. After a slightly plain region they come across a tough steep slope measuring 9km. During this slope the route can completely mesmerize the participants as they run across from one amazing view to the other. The last 2 or more kilometers are a flat trail run. This brings the runners to Toxeftra Beach where the run is completed with splash in the refreshing water.

The last day consists of completion of the half marathon. The runners head for the Paphos city where they compete in the fairly flat course measuring 10km. The evening is accompanied by loads of Beer and some music for the celebration of the winners.
