Autumn Sports Holiday in Lanzarote

For runners, triathletes, and cyclists, summer temperatures in excess of 30 degrees Celsius are not perfect conditions, but neither are the cool, wet and rainy days of a typical British autumn. The island of Lanzarote offers the opportunity of better weather conditions, with autumn rain very rare and average daytime temperatures of between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius throughout September, October and November. Hotels with sports facilities or the specialist Club La Santa are all popular and there are various organised competitive events for athletes to test their fitness.

Agiotfest on Corfu in September

The small village Agios Ioannis sits in the middle of Corfu, approximately 5 miles to the west of Corfu Town and has more than a few attractions to tempt people away from the capital. Just outside the olive and orange groves is the island's waterpark Aqualand, which features various swimming pools, slides, a wave pool and other water attractions.

Music Festival in Menorca

Music festivals are very popular on the island of Majorca and its smaller neighbour Menorca. On Mallorca it seems that even smaller towns are organising their own summer music festivals, with jazz proving to be one of the more popular styles. On Menorca, festivals are equally popular and one of the biggest is the annual Music Festival of Mahon, which features mainly classical performances. This festival may be smaller than some of its Mallorcan equivalents, but the quality of the performers is very high.

To Zakynthos for Dave Pearce

Laganas is the largest resort on this Ionian island and is located in the southern part, near Zante.
