It wasn't easy for the jury, as over 27 travellers gave our Photography Competition their best shot - and amazing shots they were! Especially Italy turned out to be a very photogenic destination, with pictures of Milano, Venice, Rome, Florance.

People that are looking for an adrenalin rush should head for the north of the island. One of the best places to visit in the north of the island is Mirador Del Rio. The word Mirador translates, as meaning a look out and this is a particular vantage point. This attraction is very popular with tourists and a lot of the tourists that come to this area make the most of the flights to Lanzarote. The Mirador del Rio is a very attractive observation point and it is built over several levels anchored in a cliff face of volcanic lava rock.

There is a week-long preparation that goes into the festival. Many shop owners cover their shops before hand with huge plastic covers as a protection from the mess. There are also few rules to adhere to. It a part of the rule to squash the tomatoes before hurling them at people. However, any objects other than tomatoes are not to be thrown!
