Sandford is the truly historical centre of Florida, United States of America. Sandford is also the home to the Alive After Five Street Festival.The festival is all about promoting Sandford and it's colourful history.

No matter the weather the city centre of Sandford opens its door to this amazing outdoor festival, its a street party like no one has ever seen before. At the Sandford festival there is plenty of food, plenty to drink and lots of music as well as some truly spectacular artists and their work.

Come to Sandford for the festival and you will truly be happy that you did, you can relive the days of the steamboat era, brick streets, beautifully restored building and cafes galore.

There is a beautiful river walk that you can take along the Lake Monroe,or if you would prefer you could spend your time checking out the boutiques, antique stores and of course many many art galleries or side walk artists selling their wares. There are so many landmarks you can spend your time checking out as well, it will give you a real feel for the city that now thanks to the Alive After Five Street Festival the whole district is known as the'arts' district.

You can be amongst the thousands of people from Orlando, Sanford and the surrounding districts who come to the Alive After Five Street Festival which is held every second Thursday. No one will think twice when you go out dancing in the streets or stand still for hours just being absolutely absorbed in the atmosphere of being surrounded by artists and street performers who will keep you so entertained you won't notice the hours flying past.

Of course there is more to Sandford than just their Alive After Five Street Festival, as I mentioned earlier Sandford sits along side Lake Monroe which will give you a beautiful view whilst you are walking along the riverwalk which is full of gazebos and gorgeous spots to sit down and relax, there is a huge 1.2 miles to walk if you are feeling fit.

Whilst you are in Sandford you should definitely visit Marian Island, The Sandford Museum, The Veterans Memorial Park or Ft. Mellon Park, or even have lunch in one of the many gorgeous restaurants situated alongside the lake.
