Improve your Windsurfing on Kos

Windsurfers tend to come to Kos during the late season to enjoy the quieter beaches and the range of surfing conditions provided by the island.
The Greek island of Kos is the perfect place to improve your windsurfing skills. Conditions around the island during the late summer are perfect for beginners and intermediates to take the next steps in improving their windsurfing technique. Locations such as Psalidi on the north-east coast and Marmari in the centre of the northern coast both offer great conditions. Marmari is probably a better location for absolute beginners as it offers a choice of accommodation, a surf school and plenty of sandy beach. When the Meltemi is blowing, this potentially powerful northwest wind, provides a more challenging test for experienced windsurfers and kite surfers
.One event taking place during early September is a windsurfing clinic run by an experienced team sponsored by board manufacturer Fanatic. The clinic is aimed at intermediate men and women who are looking for expert instruction and a range of conditions. Running from 3rd September to 8th September the event takes place at the Big Blue Surf Center in Psalidi. What makes Psalidi perfect for this type clinic is the way the wind develops gradually throughout the day. Lighter breezes in the mornings make ideal conditions for learning new techniques, while stronger winds during the afternoon provide speedy slalom tracks and swells for exciting jumps.
The resort at Psalidi provides everything a windsurfer could want including a wide choice of equipment for hire, safety staff on duty and great evening entertainment choices. Look at Kos for your next windsurfing holiday.
