Monastir Part 1

Exotic Monastir, Tunisia is a glistening tourist resort located on the north east coast of Tunisia. The city has a marina, stunning beach, an impressive fortress that serves as a landmark, and a traditional medina in the old town. Monastir is a blend of east meets west, beach holiday and cultural break, ancient ruins within a modern edge.
The origin of the name Monastir comes from the French word 'monastere', or monastery. Originally a sleepy fishing village, Monastir is now very popular with holidaymakers looking for an excellent beach break but also one with rich cultural and historical places of interest. Monastir is clean, pretty, with lots of cultural amenities, and so much to offer holidaymakers in search of a sun soaked break.
With its inviting year-round Mediterranean weather (temperatures in the area hit the mid 30 degrees during the peak of summer while staying mild throughout the winter) and just a short transfer from the airport,Monastir is a wonderful choice for a vacation with guaranteed sunshine.
In Monastir you'll find excellent golfing facilities, horse and camel riding, boat trips to the Kuriat Islands, and water sports available at the local beaches and the marina. The area is perfect for paragliding, windsurfing, scuba diving and jet skiing. In nearby Skanes, the Aqua Palace in Port El Kantaoui is the perfect place for kids to enjoy a water park retreat. There is even a little train to get you there which is very inexpensive to ride.
