The yearly carnival is a much awaited event in Arrecife-Lanzarote. Every year the processions are held between 3rd February and 9th March in Arrecife. Arrecife, which also happens to be the capital of the island, is visited by tourists all over the world because of the various festivals celebrated with merriment and enthusiasm. The annual carnival is one of the most famous festivals of the Canary Islands. The festival has been in vogue for a very long time. It is not celebrated only by the residents of the Islands but several tourists across the globe joyfully participate in it.

The parade is the first event of the carnival eve and extends up to 4 fun filled and entertaining days. Those fond of dancing through the night will have the time of their life because of the rocking concerts that are organized for tourists. There is something for everyone here in Arrecife. The beach activities include the floats procession along the seaside. These turn out to be great activity for adults and children alike. Everyone tries to create the best float, as there are many themes to choose from for decorating the floats.

Many people take flights to arrecific Lanzarote Spain to enjoy the highlight of the gala event is the Carnival Queen selected during the carnival. Arrecife is the place to be especially with family and kids. Thats because the funfairs here are truly fun! The funfair goes on till the evening. Just as the carnival gets over, the open air party begins. The party is accompanied by a great musical evening and bands constantly playing a good mix of some peppy dance numbers followed by great melodious tunes. The restaurants and bars have delightful aroma filling up the place and attracting everyone towards it. The stalls are decorated in all kinds of colors and the whole place looks brighter than ever

Puerto del Carmen is a great stop for the carnival which is characterized by the largest tourist resort. You can expect to find great fireworks at Puerto del Carmen. As the carnival progresses it brings along street theatre, fancy dress and some boisterous as well as playful events. Friday is when the gala night begins. The whole venue turns in to a grand and dramatic palace. Figures made from Papier mache are also quite an attraction during the event. Those who are looking for an excuse to party have to be here at Arrecife to have a celebration of their lifetime.
