Over four days in July the Moto Club Faro holds its annual Bike Meet on the Concentration Showground right next to Faro airport.

The Faro motorbike meet is held for the 28th time this year between 16th July and 19th July. The programme of events includes live concerts each evening, a bike show with trade stands, fairground, together with other events and competitions. If you are interested in bikes then a visit to the show could be a great addition to your stay in the Algarve but music fans may also be thinking of attending.

The bands booked for the evening concerts of the meet include the Swedish band Europe, famous for their rock classic "The Final Countdown", the Italian Iron Maiden tribute band "Children of the Damned", another Swedish Rock band, "Fatal Smile" and five Spanish and Portuguese bands including one group you would not expect to find at a bike event. The St Dominic's Gospel Choir was formed in 2002 and the group of almost 60 singers has performed at numerous festivals and made several TV appearances.

The Faro Bike meet is just one of several events taking place on the Algarve during August. Other events include the 10th Folklore Festival in Santa Bá²¢ara de Nexe, an Oyster Festival in Tavira between 22nd July and 29th July and the 6th International Algarve Dance Festival. The Dance Festival takes place at the Teatro das Figuras in Faro on the 30th, 31st July and 1st August. This year the performers include the Hamburg Ballet and the Stuttgart Ballet companies.
