Bodrum Ballet Festival

The 7th Bodrum Ballet Festival is scheduled to take place in August this year, with the historical Bodrum Castle being the main venue.
The Bodrum Ballet Festival runs this year between 19th August and 30th August and features six performances of several different ballets. The festival is being organised in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Directorate General of State Opera and Ballet, and features four dance companies with some international representation.
The historical castle in Bodrum, which stands alongside the town harbour, will be a fitting venue for the performances. Last year the festival featured the Izmir State Opera and Ballet group and invited performers from Spain and the Netherlands. This year the Antalya State Opera and Ballet and the Ankara State Opera and Ballet Modern Dance Company are the main national dance groups performing, with invited groups including the Ballet National de Marseille and the Kafig Company dance group, both from France. The ballets being performed include Harem and Tricote.
For visitors to Bodrum, the week of ballet performances will be a popular event and an opportunity to visit the Castle during the evening when it provides a stunning venue for cultural performances like ballet.
