If you want to visit a place thats a mix of both modern and old then Tenerife can be a good choice for spending a happy and satisfying holiday. The San Miguel Castle is a magnificent construction spanning about 6,000 sq. m. made from a stone called the canarian canto. This structure consists of principal towers that are as high as 16 meters and cover an area of 20,000 sq. m.

From the time you enter the castle, you will find yourself in a transformed world belonging to the medieval times. The entrance of the castle is full with objects placed in the most royal manner. These include historical chests, armor, scrolls and swords from the medieval epoch. It is the Count named Don Rodrigo and the young Countess who stay in the castle. As soon as you enter they will welcome you pleasantly to the Castle. The other people in the castle, who are mainly there to assist, will show you to the Tournament Hall.

This Tournament hall is the venue for many medieval games and fights. These games and fights are organized here and conducted in the presence of the Count. They have their Royal seats in shape of a box from where they view the shows being played.

While the Tournament is on, you will be served a feast just as it was served in medieval times. You will first have the soup and then a complete chicken for one person each. All of this is eaten with hands. Further, the dinner will be followed by beverages and dessert.

There are long benches and tables placed in the hall at a prime location from where the event can be viewed conveniently. This is where the guests of the Count are seated. The hall consists of a sand arena that allows the knights and horses to perform. This arena is 50 m in length. Overall the capacity of the hall is about 1100 guests. You will definitely enjoy the grandeur and the excitement of this venue and the events held here.
