Las Palmas is set amidst magnificent scenery comprising of two vast bays and picturesque beaches named Playa de las Alcaravaneras and Playa de las Canteras. Las Palmas was founded in 1478 and it boasts of significant cultural and historical heritage especially in a district called Vegueta. Vegueta happens to be the oldest part of the island.
