The Coast of Silence is also known as Costa del Silencio and this is a very popular tourist resort. There are a lot of tourists that visit this and they make use of the regular flights to Tenerife. This resort is located within the southern part of Tenerife. The Costa de Silencio translates as the Coast of Silence. This coast was once silent however this is no longer the case as it is a very popular tourist area and there are regular flights to this area.

One of the advantages for tourists visiting this area is the closeness of the airport. There is a wide range of accommodation that is available within this area and this means that it is a very complex resort. Jose Antonio Tavio who was the mastermind behind this area designed this coastal resort and it dates back to 1963. This designer also came up with a lot of the designs for the surrounding area.

There is a number of housing complexes that are located within this coastal resort and this includes Chayofita complex and also the Chaparral complex. Most of these residential areas have a swimming pool, which all the residents share. Most of these areas also have a wide range of bars, shops and restaurants. There are also a number of supermarkets that are located within this region.

The most commonly spoken language within this coastal resort is English however there is some other nationalities living within the area and this includes Belgians, French, Spanish and also some Germans. All of the different nationalities help to give this area a somewhat cosmopolitan feel.

A lot of the ex-pats from Britain and the tourists mainly use the area that is known as Coral Mar Square. This area has a traditional chip shop, which is perfect for people that are looking for foods that they are used to. This area also has regular live music, which is provided by the Starlight Cabaret Bar.
