Extra Flights to Lanzarote

FlyThomasCook will add a new Tuesday flight to its Manchester - Arrecife route that, together with the existing Thursday and Sunday flights, will bring more choice and additional flexibility for people flying to the island of Lanzarote. The additional flight will operate from 4th August until 27th October 2009 inclusively.
Flights to Lanzarote from the UK typically take 4 hours 20 minutes and land at the Arrecife Airport which is located on the East coast of the island, just south of Arrecife town. This airport on Lanzarote was originally built and operated for the Spanish Air Force but started taking commercial flights in the 1940's. A new terminal building opened in 1999 to take the growing volume of international flights bringing holidaymakers to the island. The older terminal is now used for national and inter-island flights to Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura.
Being located centrally on the island, visitors landing at Arrecife have the advantage short transfer times to the popular resorts of La Santa on the West coast, Playa Blanc in the South of the island and Puerte del Carmen. Last year Lanzarote was the 10th busiest airport in Spain, with over 5 million passengers passing through it during the year.
