Festive Weather Round Up

While much of Britain still experienced cold, snowy weather and temperatures in Scotland plummeted to as low as minus sixteen, we thought a round up of the weather in our key winter sun destinations would warm you up a little.
With flights departing from all over the UK bound for the Canaries, travellers were able to enjoy near perfect weather. On Tenerife, Christmas Day and Boxing Day were both idyllic sunny days with near cloudless skies and temperatures a warm 24 degrees Celsius. Things were slightly warmer on Fuerteventura although some parts of the island had to endure a Christmas Day shower. Conditions were similar on Gran Canaria and Lanzarote .
In Antalya , Turkey, Christmas Day was also greeted by cloud free skies and bright sunshine. The temperature was a warm nineteen degrees, while along the coast towards Bodrum and Marmaris the weather was equally nice but with some showery conditions moving in from the West.
In Egypt those willing to take the least risk of poor weather had headed to Hurghada or Sharm El Sheikh and they were well rewarded. Both resorts were looking forward to at least 5 five days worth of brilliant clear skies, all day sunshine and warm daytime highs of 26 degrees Celsius.
Finally we checked on Banjul in The Gambia where our travellers were enjoying easily the best Christmas weather of any of our destinations. Not a cloud in sight and a hot 34 degrees Celsius is about as good it gets for those who want to enjoy a sunny Christmas on the beach. Not even the Aussies on Bondi Beach south of Sydney in Australia could match that. Christmas Day there was rainy and a cool 26 degrees.
