Fly To Faro For January Golf

January and February are both popular months for golfers taking a trip to the Algarve in Portugal. The resorts that are within easy reach of Faro airport offer perfect conditions at the start of the year, when many UK courses could be difficult to play or even closed due to the weather conditions.
After several weeks of very wet weather, that could now be followed by a severe cold snap, UK golfers must be wondering when they are next going to be able to get out a play the game they love. However with one-way flights currently available for as little as 30 in January, a long weekend trip, or even a week, to the Algarve for some warm weather golfing is starting to appear very attractive.
Several courses on the Algarve are now offering long weekend or week long packages that include bed and breakfast accommodation plus several rounds of golf at favourable prices. That would be one option, while others choose to plan their own itinerary and book everything themselves.
During February one company is organising a week long tournament for amateur players that takes in 5 rounds of golf at 5 different courses. The 1st East Algarve Golf Trophy starts on 6th February, with the golfers visiting courses like the Benamor Golf Club, Quinta da Ria, the new Castro Marim course and the Jack Nicklaus designed Monte Rei course. The trophy presents a easy way to play a variety of courses, while adding a competitive element.
There are in excess of thirty golf courses along the Algarve coast, with at least 12 of them in the area between Faro and the nearby resort of Vilamoura.
