Banjul market is commonly referred to as Albert Market. This market is the biggest urban market that is held within Banjul. This market was named after Queen Victoria's husband who was Prince Albert Gotha and Saxe Coburg. This market tends to be very busy and it is also very lively. There is a vast amount of items on sale within this market and these include wooden masks that are carved, designed fabrics that are vivid and there is also a wide range of fresh produce that is available. This market is laid out within the alleys and there are hundreds of stalls and shops that have been purposely built. The market is open from eight in the morning to seven at night. A lot of tourists that visit the market enjoy the regular flights to Banjul.

Some of Tenerife's other main markets are located in the Costa Adeje, the Los Cristianos area and in Santa Cruz, including a notable open-air flea market along the Avenida Jose Manuel Guimera, which takes place every Sunday morning. You can find inexpensive items to bring back home plus lots of local produce and handicrafts. Some of the items to look for are hand-crafted lace tablecloths, pottery and ceramics, and local wines.
