Fuerteventura International Jazz Festival

Fuerteventura, like every other Canary island, is famous for its love for parties and all year round festivals. Every year, from the 9th until the 18th of July, the Canary Islands host a major world-class jazz festival sponsored by Heineken. This year will be the 18th time the festival is held since inception, with a total of about thirty-eight concerts held across the islands during the event. The festival began in Gran Canaria Island in 1992 before it spread across to the islands. Fuerteventura is one of the major venues where many of the massive concerts will take place.
If you want to be a part of this fantastic festival for a memorable time of jazz and sunshine while you also enjoy plenty food and drinks, now is the time to book your flights to Fuerteventura. The festival features a lot of prominent artists from all over the world. The highlights of this year's event include a tribute to the Philadelphia-born artist Billie Holiday. Soul legends like Dee Dee Bridgewater, a Grammy award-winning vocalist, will perform some of her songs.
There is usually one night dedicated to African jazz, which will see Angelique Kidjo, a Grammy award-winning Beninoise singer-songwriter, performing. Other confirmed artists are Miguel Zenon, a Puerto Rican born saxophonist, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, a Cuban jazz pianist, the New york drummer, Ari Hoenig Trio, and Cejudo Quintetus. There will also be appearances from popular jazz rock-veterans like Frank Gambale G-force band, Yul Ballesteros and numerous Canarian groups.
This year's festival promises to be a huge success and a worth-while experience. And early bookings are recommended!
