The island that is known as Goat Island is located in the Balearics and this island is also known as Gabrera. Despite the name of this island it is not actually home to any goats. There is a vast amount of untouched nature on this island. Due to this island being so beautiful it is a very popular with tourists from all across the world who make use of the regular flights to Balearics. Although this island is popular with tourists it is not as popular as the other islands within the Balearics.

At first glance there does not seem very much to do on this island. The island is home to a castle, a restaurant, a few houses and also a small museum. There are no airports on the island and also no cars and not even a single hotel. Instead this island is home to a vast amount of nature and this is protected therefore it is never likely to be built upon.

This island reflects how Menorca looked more than one hundred years ago. The name Goat Island has been derived from the word cabra, which is a Spanish word that means goat.

There are no goats on the island, as it will have a negative impact on the actual landscape of the island. There however many animals on the island and some of these are endemic to the island.

There are a lot of lovely walks on this island and one of the most picturesque walks leads from the harbor along to the light tower in Ensiola, which is about eleven kilometers away. From this walk it is possible to enjoy spectacular views of the entire group of islands and the cliffs on this walk are about fifty meters in height. There is another walk that leads out to the point of La Miranda and this walk takes in the cave that is known as Cova Blanca.
