Inspired by the Winter Olympics? If you still want to have a go at it this season, now is pretty much your last chance to book a holiday to one of the ski resorts in Europe.
This Easter is especially great for recreational skiers. You can actually smell that spring is in the air and it's getting warmer every day, but the snow is still thick and powdery thanks to a good winter. And isn't it much more agreeable to speed down the slopes without being subjected to a painful blizzard peel? Other advantages are that the ski clothes shops and equipment stores are having their end of season sales, and that the apr賭ski scene will be even more vibrant because the ski instructors are having their goodbye parties.
The season is drawing to an end again in most Italian and French resorts, but it's not too late. You can still hit the slopes this Easter in places such as Val d'Isere and Tignes.
Tignes is the ideal resort for skiers and snowboarders with any level of experience. It has an amazing variety of both on and off piste skiing, and an area lift pass allows for a day trip to The Three Valleys or Paradiski areas. With an extensive lift system, the terrain links directly into the 300km 'Espace Killy', so it's easy to ski into the neighbouring Val D'Isere. This village is set higher in the mountains of the Savoie Alps and has an excellent snow record as well.
AGBus runs coach services from Grenoble Airport to both Tignes and Val d'Isere, and flythomascook offers direct flights to Grenoble from London Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester Airport.
Do you need a break, a decent tan and some physical exercise? The mountains are waiting for you! So find a last minute accommodation, book your flight and get ready for the last winter sports holiday of the season!
