Picturesque coral reefs and brilliant azure waters that are ideal for windsurfing, scuba diving, and snorkeling have made the spectacular Hurghada, on Egypt's Red Sea Coast, a popular resort town. Within easy reach of the gorgeous Giftun Islands and the Eastern Arabian Desert, the captivating resort of Hurghada has experienced massive amounts of development in the past decade. The Hurghada area now runs 25 miles along the Red Sea. There is so much to enjoy in Hurghada that it is a perfect place for couples, singles, and families who want a wonderful break under the hot Egyptian sun.

Winter temperatures in Hurghada range between 11 and 22 degrees Celsius. Summer temperatures are between 26 and 36 degrees. Visitors who travel here usually come for the spring, summer, and autumn months.

Formerly a sleepy fishing village, Hurghada is now a leading resort centre on the Red Sea coast. The aquatic sports available here is unbeatable and the holiday villages and hotels offer facilities for sailboarders, yachting, scuba diving, snorkeling, and windsurfing. The beaches along the coast are perfect for swimming and the golden sands are inviting just for the gentle sport of relaxing.

This area of the Red Sea offers some of the world's finest underwater gardens including the famous Sharm el Naga coral reefs, the Omo Gammar, and Careless Reef among many others. The warm and translucent waters of the Hurghada coastal area are ideal for the rare species of fish and coral reefs which are copious here. Due to its underwater wonderland, Hurghada is very attractive to scuba divers and there are many diving centres to choose from.

If you aren't licenced to dive, it is often possible to snorkel and still see incredible coral reefs and hundreds of varieties of tropical fish just 10 meters from the shoreline. You can also take a ride in a glass bottomed boat where you can view the sea life and the amazing coral reefs.
