Ibiza Summer 2010

Party People @ Club Amnesia , Ibiza 2006

During the Summer months, many of our passengers on flights to Ibiza travel to the island to enjoy the thriving nightlife as much as the sun and beaches. The six months or more between the time when most of the clubs close in October through to their reopening in May and June may seem a lifetime, but many will already be planning their trips at this time of year to get the best deals.

The two main towns on Ibiza, San Antonio and Eivissa (or Ibiza Town), and the 15 km link road between them is where almost all of the major clubs can be found. This makes things very convenient for the clubbers and the nightclubs themselves make life even simpler by providing a dedicated bus service along the route and some clubs offering free tickets.

The clubs on Ibiza each have their own attractions. The massive Privilege, claimed to be the biggest nightclub in the world and was frequented by the likes of Freddie Mercury when he was alive and is now attracting huge audiences of over 13,000 people on some big party nights. Others like the smaller El Divino in Puerto Nuevo have enviable locations with fantastic views across the bay to Ibiza Town. Privilege is expected to open its doors again this year at the end of May.

Ibiza has always attracted the party people, right from the times in the 60's when the island had several hippy communities, through to the 1980's when the first simple nightclubs opened their doors. Now the clubs are very sophisticated and even market themselves as worldwide brands, with clubs like Pacha having equivalent clubs in 20 cities around the globe. The Pacha club opened on Fridays and Saturdays in Jan 2010 with full opening expected in May.
