Loro Parque, initially a Parrot Park has now transformed into Tenerifes second largest tourist attraction after a mount named Teide. If you are traveling with your loved ones then traveling by air is the right thing to do as flights to Tenerife are quite regular. The Loro parque has been successful in accommodating the worlds most significant Parrot collection consisting of more than 300 species of parrots. It also consists of fascinating Flamingos, Tigers, Alligators, Jaguars, Gorillas, Chimpanzees, Tortoises and Penguins.
The Parque staff keeps people engaged by means of different shows such as the Sea Lion show, Parrot Show, and the Dolphin Show. It also comprises of a full fledged Aquarium, boasting of a Shark tunnel. There is an Orchid House, a Penguinarium, a Gambian Market and a 'NaturaVision' Cinema to keep everyones taste in mind. It is not possible to get bored here whether you are an adult or a child. There is indeed something for everyone.
The Penguinarium has succeeded in creating the worlds largest replica of the climate of Antarctic where snow of about 12 tons falls everyday. The Parque also has some stunning gardens to relax after a tiring day. A further treat is the dolphinarium which houses 8 dolphins, straight from the Gulf of Mexico. They will truly astound as well as delight you with display of intelligence. You can have a lot of fun and also play games with them.
These dolphin pools are considered to be the largest in the Parque, having a capacity of about 7,000,000 liters. There are three pools named the holding pool, the quarantine pool and the show pool. All three are connected to each other and continuously filled with fresh water from the sea. The dolphinarium consists of a seating capacity of about 1500 people.
There is one more attractive work of art which is the design of the roof of an enclosure meant for the californian sea lion show. The enclosure consists of transparent panels so that the shows can also be seen from underwater. The water is sent via a number of filters into the pool, having a capacity of 1,200,000 liters of water.
The chimpanzees seen here are actually the ones rescued in the 1980s from the street photographers. They now have a brand new enclosure, spanning an area of 1,500 sq. m with many waterfalls and streams. It also has a baby chimp named Ovidio. The whole parquet is quite fascinating and a great treat for children.
