National Day celebrations is one event that you can look forward to as your flights to Malta lands. Each year the day is celebrated by the Maltese with pride and passion for their country. The celebration of Maltas national day is centered at promoting the culture and history of Malta. As you enter the Malta pavilion, where the grand celebrations are held, you will notice the armor plated soldiers of Malta parading across the ground. The national celebration is graced by the presence of many business leaders and dignitaries from Malta as well as the neighboring countries such as China. You will also find some renowned industrialists attending the ceremony.

The National Day celebrations of Malta were held on May 14 at the Shanghai World Expo. The celebration began at the Pavilion and continued with other events to display the rich heritage of the country. The evening was made special and extremely memorable by a concert from Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja held in the Expo Center.

Although Maltese music has been influenced a lot by the Western world however, the traditional Maltese music has been still preserved in form of ghana. The celebration brings a great sense of patriotic fervor within the participants as well as the audience. Even the leaders attending from various other nations have commented on the solidarity of Maltese people without paying heed to the uncertainty of the day on which it should be celebrated.

In spite of Malta being such a small island spanning as little as 300 km square, it accommodates some of the greatest and oldest structures. Some of them belong to 3,500 BC. The population of Malta has just about crossed 410,000 citizens.
