Hurghada is a city situated in Egypt that was not known too much until a few years back when the coast of Red Sea became a great tourist attraction. Till then it was a small place that was known only for fishing. There are several flights to Hurghada at comfortable timings from various locations. If you are planning a visit to Hurghada then you should stay long enough because apart from the historical and educational interests there are neighboring islands worth visiting. These islands include Shadwan Island, Umm Gammar Island, Abu Minqar Island and so on. Each of these islands includes a lot of diving, snorkeling and fishing opportunities.
These opportunities also exist within Hurghada as it is well known as an international aquatic sports center. In case you wish to skip the islands and still do some snorkeling and diving or even wind surfing, you can do it within Hurghada. The marine life here is also very attractive and it turns out to be a great treat especially for children. The warm water found in the sea is particularly beneficial for the diverse species of fish as well as coral reefs. There are boats with glass bottom that can be used for viewing the underwater activities.
In order to look at the marine life seriously or from an educational point of view you can visit the Marine Biology Museum. The Museum offers some excellent and one of the rarest species of fish and different varieties of rock formations. It all adds up to give an interesting experience to children and adults alike. The Museum was built in order to showcase the fishes and corals to the visitors from across the world and also preserve the marine life thriving in the sea water. The fishes are given appropriate kind of food to grow naturally.
The natural environment created here in the museum ensures that the flora and fauna both are preserved for several years. These fishes are found in all kinds of colors such as orange, blue, red, and some are a combination of two to three bright colors. Some of the fishes here are Blue spotted grouper, Star fish, also called the Hurghada start and Parrotfish. These fishes make the whole museum a beautiful rainbow like place. You can stay put at a hotel closer to the Marine Biology Museum and pay a visit every day to cover the entire collection of fishes and plants in the museum.
