There are a number of big markets that are held in and around Lanzarote. The biggest of these markets is known as Teguise Market and it is a massive event, which is held on a weekly basis. This market is a large cultural and social event as well as a good place to shop. All of the markets that are held in Lanzarote are very popular with tourists and this part due to the frequent flights to Lanzarote.

When Teguise market takes place it has the power to transform a normally sleepy town into a very vibrant busy location. This market is home to a vast number of stalls that are all selling a vast array of different products to tourists and locals alike.

Another popular market is Haria Market and this takes place every Saturday. In contrast Haria stages a rather laid back affair compared to that of Teguise. Haria market is normally home to between twenty and thirty stalls which are set up within the main square under the shade of the trees that line the streets. Traditionally Haria market attracts people that are looking for more of an alternative lifestyle and the goods that are sold at this market tend to reflect this.

There is another very popular market and it is known as Costa Teguise. This market takes place every Friday and it takes places in the Pueblo Marinero, however sadly it is not as good as it used to be. This market consists of about twenty stalls however they tend to sell a limited amount of inauthentic produce, which includes jewelry and African woodcarvings. This market is good for a stroll when you are in this area, however it is not really worth traveling especially for.

Playa Blanca Market takes place twice a week on a Wednesday and a Saturday. This is a very stylish area to have a market. There are about thirty stalls that take part in this market and they sell a wide range of different souvenirs.
