We have just read an article that questioned whether Menorca effectively "died" during November, meaning did everything shut down following the end of the summer season. The conclusion was a resounding "no", with there being plenty to interest visitors on this beautiful island during Autumn. Of course there are fewer people on Menorca once the main summer season slows down, in fact the people count may drop to as low as 30 per cent of the summer peak, but that just means more space and a more relaxing environment for everyone.

During November this year there was a thriving concert scene with the capital Mahon hosting many events. Local residents appreciated the appearance of top Spanish band Los Secretos. Regarded as one of the best pop and rock bands to emerge from Spain they have been playing to audiences for the past thirty years and filled the concert venue in Menorca when they played on 7th November. Other events included an opera on 15th November at the Teatre Principal de Mao and, on 20th November, a performance by The Orquestra Arabe de Barcelona, also at the Teatre Principal de Mao.

The people who visit Menorca during November are not the same as those that come during the summer to lie on the many excellent beaches. Autumn visitors are just as interested in exploring many of Menorca's wonderful walks or playing on one of the many top class golf courses as they are in worshipping the sun. But it is the weather that makes those other things more enjoyable. Minimal chance of rain and warm daytime temperatures make Menorca an attractive place to be during November.
