One of Malta's biggest annual festivals takes place over ten days starting on Friday 24th July 09.

Known as the Farsons Great Beer Festival, this ten day open air event is about much more than just beer. The main sponsors lend their name to the event which has been running for an amazing 29 years and has virtually become a permanent part of the Maltese social calendar. During the festival period two outdoor stages are built in the Ta' Qali National Gardens and a variety of activities complement the music and, of course, beer available. Entrance to the festival is free and each evening several musical acts perform for the crowds of thousands.

Each evening from 20:00 the crowds gather to eat, drink and be merry, with the popular food court area providing a choice of traditional Maltese food as well as a selection of Chinese, Turkish, Italian and Spanish cuisine. There are also attractions for children, which the organisers are calling Kids Fantasyland, making the event suitable for families too.

The event claims to be Malta's biggest free outdoor festival and anyone lucky enough to be on the island during the festival is welcome to go along. Local buses make getting to the festival very easy and parking is also free.
