Did you stay in to watch Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, The Chamber of Secrets, The Prisoner of Azkaban, and The Goblet of Fire on ABC Family this weekend? And did that get you and the kids in the mood for a magical holiday? Of course you could go to Oxford and view the university buildings where all Hogwarts school scenes were filmed. But though it definitely is an enchanting city, you won't exactly see students flying around on broomsticks. For the real Harry Potter experience, you should visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida.
The park will be launched on June 18, shortly before the film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which is due in November 2010.
As a visitor of the theme park, you can meet Harry, Hermione and Ron in person, roam through and soar over Hogwarts castle, test your Quidditch skills, travel by Floo powder, scream your lungs out in the Dragon Challenge (a twin high-speed roller coaster), get a bird's eye view of the park from the Flight of the Hippogriff, and experience the new adventure of The Forbidden Journey.
Through the Universal Orlando website, you can book a special four-night vacation package, starting from 285 dollars per adult, tax included. This will give you accommodation at a Universal Partner Hotel, breakfast at the Three Broomsticks cafe, early park admission and a three day ticket for all parts of the Universal Orlando theme parks. This summer, it will be very easy to get there because flythomascook offers cheap flights to Orlando from various British Airports. Sanford International Airport in Florida isn't far from Universal Orlando.
