San Fernando in Balearics

The area of San Fernando is a town, which is located within the province of Cadiz, which is part of Spain. This town is home to more than ninety seven thousand five hundred inhabitants and this increases a lot over the summer months as a vast number of tourists make the most of the cheap flights to Balearics in order to enjoy everything that this town has on offer.
This town played a massive role within the history of the island and this is especially the case during 1810 when the French who were led by Napoleon occupied the area. The only part of Spain that was not occupied by the French was Cadiz and San Fernando.
The town of San Fernando is located on the coast and it is about ten kilometers to the south of Cadiz. San Fernando can be classed as a modern town and it is located between the Atlantic Ocean and also the Salt Lakes. This town was traditionally involved in naval construction and the salt works that are close by have contributed significantly to the economy of the town and also the surrounding area.
The town of San Fernando is pretty much what you would expect from a typical Andalucian town. This town is home to Spanish doors, wrought iron windows and facades.
There is a lot of things for tourists to see and do within this area therefore there is plenty to do when on holiday within this area. This town is home to one of the oldest observatories anywhere in Spain. This observatory was built during the eighteenth century and it is known as Marina Astronomical. Another thing that this area is very popular for is its unique shellfish dish and this dish is known as Bocas de la Isla and this is a crab-based dish.
