Visitors to Orlando in Florida who travel with flythomascook.com during the summer will arrive at the Florida Sanford airport. The town is well- known for its "Alive after Five" street festivals that take place every month.

Sanford has also celebrated the local seafood industry, the German based Oktoberfest beer festival, a Motown event and Blue Grass music.

To coincide with the February Mardi Gras season, the event that ran on 11th February was called "Party Gras" and is claimed to be the biggest monthly street party in Central Florida. Festivities ran between 5 and 8 in the evening, so were perfect for families. The February promotion included live music from Kid Dutch and his New Orleans Music and a chance to eat from one of the world's biggest barbeques. Thousands of people were expected and a small admission charge of 7 dollars was all it cost to take part.

The most famous Mardi Gras event took place in New Orleans and this year that happened on Tuesday 16th February. Huge street parades and non-stop partying were a feature.
