Santorini Part 1

Sensational Santorini, located in the southern Aegean Cyclades, is a tranquil island set on dramatic cliffs and amongst amazing seascapes. With panoramic views of sweeping lagoons and breathtaking sunsets, this a romantic holiday destination. Santorini has a well deserved reputation for it's natural geological wonders and the beautiful skafta (cave houses built into the rock) that will not disappoint the discriminating traveller in search of a truly unforgettable, sun soaked getaway.
Summers in Santorini are hot and sunny while winters are dry with minimal rainfall. Summer weather can be so clear that on some days, Crete (70 miles away) can be seen from the cliff tops.
The upmarket west coast is ideal for visiting Santorini's most ravishing areas, the cliff-top towns of Thira (also referred to as 'Fira') and Oia. Both should be explored while visiting the island and are in close proximity of each other.
Thira has been the island's capital since 1800, and it's location, perched atop red, brown and gray coloured cliffs, sits majestically high above the caldera (volcanic basin) below.
