A challenging short film festival is going to be held at Sanford. It will feature a talented set of filmmakers from Florida and is scheduled to be held in February. There are several other filmmakers from all over the world who will participate in it. In case you wish to attend this festival, you must book your flights to Sanford at the earliest.

The film festival is named as Love Your Shorts and will display films that are 30 minutes in length and will be judged from both amateur and professional point of view. There are a number of categories at and is constantly seeking newer and fresher entries from companies, schools and individuals. It is open to all and will be held from 11 to 13th February 2011.

A nonprofit organization is sponsoring the festival and its Vice chairman named Frank Loose is pretty excited about it. The festival will be held at the Greater Sanford Regional Chamber of Commerce. The Love Your Shorts film organizers have got about 60 film entries from various categories. So if you are a film enthusiast then it is a must for you to attend this fest at Sanford.

Even though you are not interested in filmmaking as a career, it is a great opportunity for you to see some good talented filmmakers from all over the world. There are several entries from the United States and as many as 8 foreign countries such as South Korea, Australia, England and Spain. If you yourself are interested in submitting a short film then you have three more months to go to submit it.

There are 7 categories on which the films will be judged. These categories include sci fi and horror, animation, comedy, Florida Flavor, drama, documentary and student. Each film will be shown for about 90 minutes. The Florida Flavor category, in particular will include a film made mainly in Florida.

The student category is primarily for students who have completed their 12th grade. The films will be judged by the viewers as well as the judges. The viewers will select their favorite film and the panel of judges will watch all the movies of the category winners to select a Love Your Shorts best of show. Winners at the film festival will get cash prizes and awards.

Apart from this contest the film festival will also hold discussions on films at some of the other places in Sanford. A film named Scent has been broadcasted at the London Short Film Festival and the Newport Beach Film Festival in Newport, California.
