Sozopol in Burgas

Sozopol is one of the oldest towns in Burgas situated 35 km from Burgas. Sozopol still attracts several visitors across the world with it extensive traditional architecture, beautiful beaches and archaeological sites. The new buildings in Sozopol tend to compliment the old town as it has several hotels to accommodate tourists. There are several flights to Burgas and after reaching here you can hire a taxi or a bus to reach Sozopol.

Because of some archeological efforts the town and its typical houses were restored successfully. Tourists not just enjoy the historical past of the city but also stay on for days at the beautiful beaches. In spite of the modern day amenities in the town, tourists are lured into the town by the traditional houses that have elaborate terraces offering scenic views of the landscape and the sea. There are three main islands viz. St. Cyril, St. Ivan and St. Peter that are worth viewing and visiting.

During the peak season, most tourists visiting Sozopol dont leave the town as it provides them with multifarious entertainment options in form of music clubs that play jazz, Latino and several other types of music. The town also has discotheques, two excellent beaches and a lot of restaurants with some mouth watering cuisines.

The beaches here are equipped with all the imaginable variety of water sports. For those who enjoy the quieter beaches can easily switch over to the next beach where one can indulge in beach volleyball, wind-surfing, jet skiing, kite surfing, water wheels and have a whole lot of fun. Some providers also offer diving facility in the neighboring gulf.

The evenings here are extremely soothing and pleasant as the seat coast allows the cool breeze to reach you wherever you are. You can take a boat ride with family to enjoy the breeze further. While in the boat you are able to view the lights of the neighboring islands as well as those within the town. It is simply blissful.

The best part about the beaches here is that they are clean and not too crowded. In any case you have the option of going to another beach around that is less crowded than the previous one. The central beach and the Harmanite are the two most visited beaches in Sozopol. Fortunately they are very close to each other.

If time permits you can go ahead and explore the beautiful islands in the Black Sea Islands. St. Ivan is the largest among these islands.
