The beautiful island of Santorini, is a part of the group of Cyclades islands, located right at the centre of the Greek Islands in the Aegean Sea. Santorini is among the most attractive getaways in Greece. It forms part of a small group of volcanic lands and the name of the island is associated with Saint Irene. Santorini has a well equipped airport so you can book your flights to Santorini from wherever you are! The site where Santorini stands today was that of one of the strongest volcanic eruptions across the world. Even though it does not seem to be there at all, it is a well known fact that the volcano is merely dormant.

An attraction has been created at Santorini to give a fresh momentum to tourism. It is the new tourist submarine. It was considered to be something extremely unique but soon several other travel destinations emulated and got themselves a similar submarine that could take several travelers for a guided tour of the island from within the deep waters. The submarine at Santorini is capable of taking people as deep as 30 meters below the sea surface. It is extremely fascinating to go deep under the sea.

The best part about the submarine is that it is nothing like a Naval submarine that a nation uses for its defenses. If you have seen the usual military submarine you will find no place to view from. This is where the submarine at Santorinin is different and truly unique. It boasts of great view ports so that the tourists can look around clearly. The Submarine at Santorini was constructed purposely by Subibor, at Spain. It consists of a bubble specifically for the pilot and a concise seating arrangement on the outer portion for about 25 to 30 tourists and is available while the submarine is on the sea surface.

It has three strong and efficient engines, along with twin diesels drive that spur it on. It also has an electric motor that monitors the submarine while it is submerged under water. The volcano at the Caldera is something to look forward to at Santorini, however it is not advisable to go near it especially under water. The submarine leaves from Vlihada located on the south coast. The moment you are inside the water you might notice some sunken amphorae. They are used for storing wine. You might bump into some statues and columns belonging to the old city. You simply have to be on the submarine to enjoy the mysteries under the sea.
