The town of Polis lies 20miles north of Paphos in the north west of Cyprus. It is a popular town with visitors to the island and the local community provides an interesting selection of artistic and cultural events for tourists to enjoy during there stay in the area.

On the coast above Polis there is a choice of beaches, both travelling east and west towards Latchi. A footpath has been built along the coastline to make walking to Latchi easier. For those seeking more rugged terrain the Akamas Peninsula is just 5 miles away from Polis. This protected area of Cyprus, with its lack of roads and network of footpaths, is popular with walkers and those seeking to get away from the usual tourist haunts. If walking is not the preferred mode of transport, boat trips leave the harbour at Latchi providing sea cruises to spots on the peninsula. This is a good way of seeing the beautiful coastline as many areas are inaccessible on foot.
