If you're looking for a last minute holiday with beer aplenty, check out our flights to Malta now because from Friday 23rd July to Sunday 1st August, the Farsons Great Beer Festival will once again attract thousands of beautiful, sociable people to the Ta'Qali Park.
The festival will be held in an open area outside the village of Ta'Quali. During the Second World War, this area was used by Allied forces as an airfield. These days, it is a National Park, home to the island's National Stadium and includes an amphitheatre where various activities are organised all year round. There are also parkland areas and other sporting installations that the Maltese people and visitors alike can enjoy. The venue will be used shortly to host the infamous Farsons Great Beer Festival.
This annual event is one of the largest and most diverse festivals organised throughout the year in Malta and offers an immense variety of brews. Interestingly enough, the festival also offers safe, educational entertainment for younger members of the family, so that parents are free to enjoy the music, food and... beer.
The ten-day open-air festival starts at 8pm every night, with free parking and free entrance. Luckily, public transport and special shuttle buses make travel to and from the venue safe and easy as well. If you're intending to take part in the beer-drinking competition, use these options because you don't want to get caught drink driving! However, you can have a great time at the festival as well without consuming any alcoholic beverages. Though most visitors are attracted to the beer, they always admit afterwards that it ware the live performances by Malta's leading singers and bands on two different stages that made the event the memorable.
You can line your stomach with delicious Chinese, Turkish, Maltese, Italian or plain pub food, which will all be available at the Food Court.
