The popular attraction that is known as the Wine Museum is one of the oldest cellars that are owned by El Grifo wineries. These cellars were built on top of the volcanic lava that was left by the eruption that happened during the eighteenth century. Reports show that this winery was actually built during 1775 and this actually makes it the oldest winery in the Canaries. This is a very popular attraction with people that enjoy the cheap flights to Lanzarote. The current owners have owned the property since 1880.

These old buildings were built using the rough materials that were typical within Lanzarote. These buildings have thick walls that are made from mortar and volcanic stone and the ceiling beams are taken from mainly salvaged shipwrecks. These buildings hold some historical importance and there has been a lot of ancient machinery and tools that have been preserved and these can now be seen within the Wine Museum.

The attraction will be good for people that have a keen interest in the production of wine. This attraction will allow you to observe the different parts of the wine making process and the process here is pretty much the same as it would be anywhere in the world. The process developed in Lanzarote a few decades later compared to other places in the world due to the problems of remoteness and communication. It is possible to view processes that are no longer used elsewhere.

The building will also be of interest to people that have a keen interest in architecture as its one of the most traditional buildings within the area of Lanzarote. This building can certainly be classed as a place to enjoy and contemplate. A visit to this museum will allow you to enjoy exactly what goes into making the wine that comes from Lanzarote.
