To Zakynthos for Dave Pearce

After the great success of his performances on 7th June, 28th June and 12th July in Laganas, DJ Dave Pearce will play on Zakynthos for the last time this season on Monday 16th August. Laganas is the largest resort on this Ionian island and is located in the southern part, near Zante. If you want to support British DJ Dave Pearce on the 16th August, it's best to book flights to Zante.
The rest of your holidays, you won't be bored in Zante. The city has many traditional Greek tavernas and, due to its island location, has an abundance of fresh fish and shellfish on its menus. The calamari (fried squid) is particularly tasty here. Other staples include the classic Greek salad with olives, cucumber, tomatoes, and feta; stifado which is a hearty stew made with potatoes; and freshly caught lobster from the local waters.
Zante is a verdant, lush island with lots of produce growing in its fertile soil. Olives here are succulent and make a delicious snack. Olive oil form the region is also very high in quality. Wine grapes are also produced on the island and the locally grown Komoutos wine is one to look out for.
Shopping on the island is varied with items such as folk handicrafts, leather goods, and jewellery for sale in many shops. Hand-woven textiles and embroideries with intricate designs, olive wood carved objects, and silver utensils are some of the local items popular with tourists. Many visitors also bring home the famous Zakynthos "mandolato" or nougat, which is a sweet treat. The local olive oil makes a lovely souvenir, too.
On Zante you will find a wide variety of hotels, villas and luxury accommodations that will suit most any budget and taste.
