Trip to Turgutreis
Turgutreis, a very well established resort in Bodrum, is known for its 19km of golden sandy beach that stretches out along the coast, backed by rugged mountains and fruit orchards packed with citrus such as mandarins. The resort is charming, with enough going on to make it interesting and fun for all – but not too much to push it over the edge into a tourist trap. Although Turgetreis has grown dramatically over the years because flights to Bodrum are very affordable, it still manages to retain its traditions, character and charm. The idyllic blend of modern and ancient makes it a very popular destination for families and couples alike.
There is a beautiful harbour in the middle of the resort, where people-watching is an absolute must! In the marina, grand yachts and modest fishing boats bob side by side on the water. There are a good number of cosy restaurants along the harbour, where it’s possible to sample the freshest fish caught earlier in the day. There are several music spots dotted throughout the town centre for good evening entertainment. Saturdays are all about the local market where tourists and locals alike come together to haggle over bargains.
Many holidaymakers in Turgutreis choose to take advantage of the resort’s excellent location and head to Kos or Rhodes for a day or two of sightseeing. As these islands are just a short boat trip away, it is possible to fit two countries into one holiday! The world famous Ephesus is not far away from Turgetreis either, and is a stunning archeological site not to be missed.
