year-round festivities in lanzarote
If you are a big fan of carnivals, festivals and any forms of parties, then Lanzarote is the place to be. This island hosts a vast number of events for any one calendar year and of course, 2010 is no different. Some of their famous festivities have already occurred, but you can attend those next year if you missed them this year. They are the February carnivals, the festivities for Holy Week at Marchs end, the Day of the Cross celebrations in May, Junes Lanzarotes Corpus Christi celebrations and of course the Heineken Jazz festival which takes place every July.
So if you missed it this year, there is always next year. However, there is no need for panicking as there is still four full months left and there are many events going on. If you want to start your vacation now, start looking for flights to Lanzarote right away as the Dia San Gines starts in late August and is a full weeks celebration all around the island. This is a celebration that honors the Patron Saint; San Gines.
If August is too early for you or you did not read this article in time, that is not a problem because September is just as festive with the Fiesta of the Virgen de los Dolores. This event takes place in teh middle of September and the festivities are similar to those in August with music, fairs and much more.
If you are truly a festival fan, you will stick around until October, for the Dia de la Hispanidad, or what we know as the National Day Festival. This takes place on the 12th of October which is a public holiday on the island. Parties will be happening everywhere as they celebrate Spains heritage. Sports fans; November is your month. Its the time for the Lanzarote Marathon, which takes place in Late November to early December. It takes place on the eastern section of the island in Arrecife.
Ring in the New Year with Lanzorate parties and wonderful display of fireworks that sparkles its reflection in the islands surrounding waters.
