A brief overview
Kaprun is a charming, picturesque village, 10 minutes by free ski
bus from Zell am See. It provides visitors with easy access to the snowsure
Kitzsteinhorn glacier, situated a 15-20 minute bus ride away. The panoramic
views from the observation deck at the top of the cable car station are
stunning and not to be missed. On the outskirts of the village, the smaller ski
area of Maiskogel is served by a gondola and best suited to beginners and
intermediates. Although the resort centre is smaller than its neighbour, Zell
am See, it offers a good choice of bars, restaurants and shops and some
surprisingly good nightlife for a village its size. Resort facilities include a
bowling alley, sports centre, plus lots of other activities on
offer.
