A brief overview
The Kitzbuheler Alps ski area stretches from Pass Thurn, via
Kitzbuhel to Kirchberg, which is now also linked to Westendorf, part of the Ski
Welt region, putting these resorts in the heart of one of the largest linked
ski areas in Austria. For mixed ability groups, they are the perfect
destination. Beginners will find the attentive ski schools fill them with
confidence to tackle the many blue runs, while intermediates are simply spoilt
for choice. The historic town centre of Kitzbuhel has something for everyone.
Its cobbled streets, lined with attractive traditional buildings, make it a
beautiful place to stay. Inside its medieval walls, there are unlimited
shopping opportunities, numerous cafes and restaurants, and in the evenings a
bustling nightlife in the many bars and clubs. A convenient and somewhat
quieter alternative to the 'Glitz of Kitz' is neighbouring Kirchberg, situated
6km away. Although it may not have quite the same glamour, it does offer great
quality hotels, convenient access to the fantastic ski area and good
value.
