A brief overview
A convenient, high altitude resort, linked into the largest ski
area in the world - the Three Valleys, with possibly the highest pub in France!
Val Thorens boasts the most formidable statistics in winter sports - and the
skiing isn't bad either. The most southerly of the Three Valley resorts, it is
reliably snow sure with swift lift access practically from your doorstep. Most
of the nursery slopes are conveniently close to the village centre so it's
perfect for beginners and families, as well as the die hard experts looking to
notch up the off piste miles between here and Mottaret. Being purpose built
it's not particularly attractive but hugely convenient. The many apartments
cluster together on the mountainside, overlooking the resort centre where there
is a good sports centre along with a variety of bars and restaurants. You'll
find a buzzing apres ski scene to keep you occupied in the evenings.
