A brief overview
Zell am Ziller is a picturesque market town situated in the heart
of the stunning Zillertal Valley. The Achterbahn gondola provides direct access
from the town to a large ski area known as Zillertal Arena; a 160km network of
runs encompassing five ski areas all interconnected by a modern lift system,
bus and train service, free to Zillertal Super Pass holders. This beautiful ski
area offers a great variety of terrain for all abilities but especially
intermediates who will enjoy the huge choice of long cruisy blues and
well-groomed reds. Zell town centre has a charming, Tyrolean atmosphere and
offers a range of restaurants, cafes and shops. There are a few apres-ski bars
plus a nightclub but it's not as lively in the evening as its neighbour,
Mayrhofen. There's a good choice of off-slope activities as well, including the
Freizeitpark centre offering a swimming pool, ice skating, ice curling,
bowling, and just a few kilometres outside the centre, a 7km tobogann run,
floodlit at night.
